Approve an embossed PET graphic overlay on the housing and display stack it will use. Check the window position, raised features, finish and bonded edges against the same drawing revision. A raised outline can help an operator locate a key; it does not, by itself, establish the click or electrical response of a membrane switch. The cover is an illustration of overlay samples and review tools. It is not a photograph of a completed sample inspection or evidence that an adhesive or switch construction has passed a test.
Check the window and raised features on the assembled front
A print can match the artwork while its border appears off-center over the installed display. Review the overlay, housing datums and display opening together. Check the operator's normal viewing angle and the conditions under which the display will be used.
Record the features that affect approval:
- Window position relative to the display, lens or indicator behind it.
- Embossed feature position, shape and profile against the agreed drawing.
- Clearance between a raised feature and the nearby window, border or adhesive zone.
- Whether the mounted film sits flat around corners, narrow bridges and unsupported edges.
A photograph can document an observed offset, but dimensions and acceptance criteria still need an agreed reference. Identify whether the issue belongs to the artwork, cut outline, formed feature or housing before asking for a revision.
Separate the raised marker from the switch response
An embossed graphic overlay and a complete membrane switch are different approval items. Epec's membrane switch design guide distinguishes overlay embossing from the tactile response of the switch beneath it. That is a useful design distinction, not a specification for a Baoshengda part.
For an overlay-only order, approve the printed and formed film and its fit to the housing. If the design includes a dome, spacer and circuit, review the assembled key response as well. Identify the layer being supplied and the rest of the stack used for the check. A raised shape on the artwork is not enough to approve actuation force, travel or electrical continuity.
Review the finish under the intended light and cleaning conditions
Specify whether the surface is matte, gloss or textured, and identify any window that needs a different finish. Compare the mounted sample under the light and viewing angle that matter to the equipment. Check readability, reflections and the appearance of dark printed areas rather than approving a finish from a material name alone.
Give the supplier the cleaning product, concentration and wiping method when known. Cleaning compatibility must be assessed for the proposed film, ink, coating and adhesive construction. A PET material description does not establish that every cleaner or cleaning cycle is acceptable.
Check the bond on the surface being used
A smooth ABS housing, a textured molding and a painted panel present different bonding conditions. Identify the actual surface, available adhesive land and support around the window and raised features. Look for bridging, lifted edges or changes in flatness after mounting.
If the surface finish, adhesive pattern or housing geometry changes, decide which checks need repeating. Do not approve a new bond from an unchanged artwork revision alone. The supplier's proposed construction and the buyer's assembled sample review need to refer to the same conditions.
Keep one approval record for the sample being reviewed
Agree what will be checked before the sample order. This record is a suggested review structure, not a promise that every sample includes a standard inspection report.

Keep visual approval separate from electrical or environmental approval. Ask which supporting records can be supplied for the construction and agree their scope before sampling. An internal inspection result is not the same as the buyer's authorization for repeat production.

Include the intended quantity and mark unknown dimensions, adhesive choices or cleaning conditions as open. Early photographs can start a discussion; final approval needs the relevant dimensions and conditions confirmed.
